Erotic Lab
A participatory workshop on disability, intimacy, desire, and access
What happens when we talk about sex differently?
The Erotic Lab is an interactive workshop and conversation format developed by artist Josse Cornette and product designer Nina Van Herck. Through playful exercises, guided discussions, collective reflection, and a healthy dose of humor, participants are invited to explore intimacy, desire, bodies, care, and accessibility from a disability justice perspective.
Rather than approaching sexuality through a medical or educational lens, the Erotic Lab understands erotics as a source of creativity, connection, joy, and collective imagination. Together, we create a brave and caring space where difficult questions, vulnerable stories, laughter, awkwardness, and pleasure can coexist.
Topics may include disability and desire, inter-abled relationships, consent, access intimacy, care and dependency, body image, queer and crip sexualities, and the many ways people experience intimacy beyond normative frameworks. Expect thoughtful conversations, unexpected insights, and a space where access, care, and pleasure are taken seriously.
The format can be adapted to different audiences and contexts, including cultural organizations, festivals, universities, care institutions, LGBTQIA+ communities, disability organizations, and professional teams interested in accessibility and inclusion.
Because intimacy belongs to everyone.
